Austria coins have seen many historical changes and were altered according to the eras like every other currency or coin. From 1925 to 1938 and 1945 to 1999, the currency used by Austria was known as "schilling" which was replaced by the euro when it was introduced in 2002. The schilling was further divided into hundred smaller units named groschen.

Before the circulation of schilling, various currencies circulated in Austria included gulden (since the 16th century), Austro-Hungarian Krone (introduced in 1892), and Austrian Krone (introduced in 1919). Austrian coins were divided into two phases, i.e., first and second schillings that varied in their denominations and compositions.

Austria coins are rare and unique that enhances their worth, and makes them popular among passionate collectors. These rare and valuable coins include 1897 Austria 2 Heller, 1980 Austria Osterreich 1 schilling coin, 1904 Austria 2 Heller, and many more.
