Switzerland Coins
Switzerland coins, also termed as "Swiss Franc", are Switzerland and Liechtenstein's official currency. In 1757, the first Swiss Franc was minted out of silver. It is further divided into hundred subunits known as centimes in French and internationally. The denominations they exist in include five centimes, ten centimes, 20 centimes, 1/3 Franc or 50 centimes, 1 Franc, 2 Francs, and 5 Francs.
All Switzerland coins feature Helvetia or Confederatio, the Latin name of Swiss Confederation, along with the year number. The obverse of 5, 10, and 20 centimes coins depicts ahead of Liberty in profile. While the 1/2, 1, and 2 Francs features a standing figure of national personification Helvetia. On the obverse of 5 Francs is a portrait of "alpine herdsman" while the reverse depicts the federal coat of arms.
