UK Paper Money

The history of UK paper money goes long back and features many changes and issuances. It all started in 1964 when the Bank of England was founded and was put into work to produce money for King Williams III's war against France. During this time, the Bank started to issue England banknotes in return for the deposits.

All the banks around England have a contract with De La Rue at Debden, Essex, responsible for the manufacturing and circulation of England banknotes. The new D series notes of UK paper currency were designed by Harry Eccleston, the new in-house designer of the Bank. He also created three portraits of the Queen.

As UK paper currency is popular among collectors, they are pretty aware of their rareness and the value they hold. Rare and valuable banknotes can be found in the market today that are very worthy; some of them are uncirculated M Lowther £10 note, Great Britain 50 Pounds, Bank of Scotland 50 pounds 2020, and more.
