Bullion
Bullion is around 99.5% to 99.9% pure gold or silver that is usually stored in bars and ingots. These billions are generally kept as reserve assets by the government or the central banks.
To create gold bullion, the gold is discovered by the mining companies and removed from the earth's surface, and then it is refined to a high degree of elemental purity. The same procedure is done for the production of silver bullions as well. The purity of the bullion is determined by an ancient technique known as "fire assay" along with modern spectroscopic instrumentation.
Special agencies make bullion coins for the sake of investment. Although some of the bullion coins were circulated in the 20th century at recent times, they are not produced or issued for circulation purposes. Coins like American Silver Eagle and American Gold Eagle can be used as collectibles and proof and for business purposes.
