Canadian Ten Cents

Last Updated: Jul 31, 2023

Canadian ten cents also referred to as dime, is a Canadian coin worth ten cents. Even with a higher face value, this coin is smaller than the penny and is the physically smallest coin in Canada. Officially, this coin is known as a ten-cents piece as declared by the Royal Mint of Canada. The size of a Canadian dime is very similar to that of an American dime.

Canadian ten cents are produced at the facility of Royal Mint of Canada, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Like all the other Canadian coins, the obverse of the ten-cents piece features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. At the same time, the reverse depicts Bluenose, a famous Canadian Schooner.

Canadian dime features many special and commemorative editions that make this coin both rare and valuable. Some Canadian ten cents are worth a lot of money, including 1936 Canadian "Dot" dimes, 1969 Large Date 10-cents, silver dimes, mercury dimes, and more.
