UK Pennies
UK pennies are coins worth one-hundredth part of a pound sterling. Before 1992, these pennies were minted out of bronze, but they are stamped from copper-plated steel. The pennies were changed from time to time under various currency and coinage acts until 1971, when these coins were started to be minted again after changes and discontinuations over the years.
UK pennies are currently minted in the Royal Mint located in Llantrisant, Wales, distributed from there. The obverse of this coin features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that was changed four times, but the latest design provided by Jody Clark in 2015 can be seen on the present coins. In comparison, the reverse depicts the segment of the royal shield.
