Mexico Coins
Mexican currency is named "peso" and is one of the most traded currencies from America and the most traded currency from Latin America. A Mexican peso is further divided into hundred units known as centavos that comprise the Mexican coins. Until the beginning of the 19th century, the Spanish Empire was at a height that resulted in the issuance of eight coins, named the peso, by Spain to Latin America.
The history of Mexican coins is very complex, featuring various series of events resulting in changes in the coins. From composition to design, the Mexican peso met many changes. The obverses of pesos featured Mexican "eagle" and the legend "Republica Mexicana". At the same time, the reverse is the case if larger coins were scales, while that in the case of smaller coins was the denomination of the coins.
