Last Updated: Aug 1, 2023

In 1843, the first Brazil stamps were introduced that were referred to as "Bull's Eyes" due to their distinctive design. In 1844, a new series of stamps was introduced, known as "slanted numeral series". The first pictorial Brazilian stamps featuring Emperor Dom Pedro II were issued in 1866.

The Pedro II issue of the stamps depicted the emperor in 1866. For a long time, the Brazilian stamps had the words "Brasil Correio" inscribed on them. At the same time, all the recent Brazil stamps issue the country's name along with the year.

Some of the rarest and most valuable Brazil stamps include 1843 Bull's Eyes, 1843 60r sheet, 1930 Air Post sheet, and many more. These stamps can be traded for a lot of money because of their rarity.
