Chinese Stamps
As China faced various serious circumstances, including the decaying of imperial China, occupation of Japan, and civil war, the postal history of China is not very smooth. In 1949, the postal system of the People's Republic of China was introduced, and a series of regional Chinese stamps were issued. The first postage stamps came in four featuring a lantern and a Gate of Heavenly Peace.
Various series of Chinese stamps were issued at different times that featured multiple designs and denominations. During the cultural revolution, stamp sales and withdrawal were reduced, making the stamps of that era scarce. Also, these cultural revolution stamps featured distinct designs and strong political views and were proven to be highly collectible as the revolution ended.
Chinese stamps are not just unique but are also worth a lot of money. These rarest and most valuable include the 1969 red stamp, surcharge invert, Red Revenue, and many more.
