In the 1990s I taught a class on chair design at the Cooper Union. The great Jens Risom passed away in 2016, at the age of 100. Here is a beautiful pair of Jens Risom Lounge Chairs. I do not know when the leather was used to replace the parachute webbing, but my estimate is that this was done in the 1960s /1970s based upon the upholstery tacking.
